Commercial battery storage UK
Commercial Battery Storage for UK Businesses
Assess funded and customer-funded battery storage, solar integration and intelligent energy optimisation for a single commercial site or a UK-wide portfolio.
What commercial battery storage can do
A commercial battery can store electricity when it is cheaper or when on-site solar generation exceeds immediate demand. The stored energy can then be used during more expensive peak periods, helping reduce exposure to costly consumption patterns.
With Q Energy’s intelligent control platform, a battery can also respond to forecasts, tariff conditions and approved flexibility opportunities rather than operating on a fixed timer alone.
- Reduce costly peak consumption
- Increase the value of existing solar
- Support approved grid-flexibility services
- Monitor performance through live energy data
Funded and customer-funded battery routes
Funding depends on annual electricity usage, half-hourly demand, site suitability, available space, connection requirements and the commercial case. It is never based on consumption alone.
As an indicative starting point, sites using 300,000–599,999 kWh per year may be considered for a customer-funded battery. Sites using 600,000 kWh or more per year may be considered for a CapEx-free funded solution, subject to full technical and commercial approval.
Suitable for UK commercial and industrial sites
Phoenix Energy Partners supports energy-intensive organisations throughout the United Kingdom. Both individual premises and multi-site portfolios can be reviewed, with each location assessed on its own demand profile and technical suitability.
- Manufacturing and engineering
- Warehousing and logistics
- Retail and wholesale portfolios
- Hospitality and leisure
- Commercial property portfolios
- Sites with solar, EV charging or high peak demand

Frequently Asked Questions
Phoenix Energy Partners supports commercial organisations across the UK, from an initial bill review through to specialist assessment with PAS and Q Energy.
Is commercial battery storage available with no upfront cost?
Potentially. Q Energy offers CapEx-free battery routes for eligible sites, but funding is subject to consumption data, technical suitability and commercial approval. A customer-funded route may be available for other suitable sites.
Does a business need solar panels first?
No. A commercial battery may optimise grid electricity without solar. Where solar is already installed, storage may help capture surplus generation and improve self-consumption.
Can several UK sites be assessed together?
Yes. Phoenix can review combined portfolio usage and coordinate a multi-site enquiry. Q Energy will still assess the consumption profile and technical suitability of each proposed location.
Who provides the technical design and installation?
Phoenix coordinates the customer journey with PAS. Q Energy provides the specialist technical assessment, solution design, installation and ongoing energy optimisation.
